Alumni Connect 2026 - Series 2.2

Modern Drug Development and Clinical Research Standards

Organised by: Alumni Cell (Maharishi University, Lucknow Campus) in association with IQAC

Objective: On 10th September 2026, the Alumni Cell of Maharishi University, Lucknow Campus, in association with IQAC, successfully hosted Series 2.2 of its flagship initiative – Alumni Connect 2026, with the theme “Modern Drug Development and Clinical Research Standards.” The initiative aimed to provide students with an opportunity to interact with successful alumni, gain valuable insights into their professional journeys, and draw inspiration for goal-oriented personal and career development.

Participating Students: Students from B.Pharm., D.Pharm. and M.Pharm. programmes participated in the session.

Event Details: The session featured Mr. Abhishek Mishra (B. Pharm., 2020–24), currently working as a Business Development Officer (BDO), Percos India Pvt. Ltd., Lucknow. Drawing from his professional journey and industry experience, Mr. Mishra shared valuable insights into modern drug development and clinical research standards, highlighting contemporary practices, industry expectations, professional opportunities, and the skills required to build a successful career in the pharmaceutical and clinical research domain.

The interactive session provided students with practical perspectives on the pharmaceutical industry and encouraged them to enhance their technical competencies, professional skills, and industry readiness. Dean(MSOPS) Dr. Pavan Kumar delivered the welcome address, extending a warm welcome to the resource person, faculty members, and students.DSW Dr. Shikhar Verma delivered an inspiring and motivational speech, encouraging students to remain focused on their career goals, continuously develop their knowledge and skills, and make effective use of professional opportunities and industry exposure.

The theme of the session highlighted the evolving practices, regulatory requirements, and professional opportunities within the pharmaceutical and clinical research domain, and to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to remain competitive and industry-ready in this rapidly advancing field.

The event was organized by Dr. Manoj Kumar Singh, Convener (Alumni Cell), and Ms. Vandana Yadav (Alumni Coordinator, Maharishi School of Pharmaceutical Sciences), Maharishi University, Lucknow Campus.

Students’ Feedback: Students described the session as highly informative, insightful, and motivating. They appreciated the practical exposure shared by the alumnus regarding drug development processes, clinical research standards, regulatory practices, and career opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry.

The students particularly valued the opportunity to learn directly from an alumnus with hands-on industry experience. They expressed that such interactive sessions helped them understand industry expectations more clearly, strengthen their professional and technical skills, and align their academic learning with real-world career opportunities in the pharmaceutical and clinical research domain.
