Engineers’ Day Celebration
Date of Event: 15th September 2026
Organised by: Maharishi School of Engineering and Technology, Lucknow
Campus, in association with IQAC
Objective: The Maharishi School of Engineering & Technology (Maharishi University, Lucknow Campus), in association with IQAC proudly celebrated Engineers’ Day 2026 on 15 September 2026, commemorating the birth anniversary of the legendary engineer and Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. The celebration provided a vibrant platform for students to explore innovation, emerging technologies, and practical engineering skills through an invited lecture, student innovation presentations, and technical challenges. The event reflected MSOET’s commitment to nurturing creative thinking, technological awareness, problem-solving abilities, and engineering excellence among future engineers.
Participating Students: Diploma, B. Tech, BCA, and MCA students.
Event Details: The celebration featured an insightful invited lecture on “Geoinformatics and AI: A Boon for Engineering” delivered by Dr. Sudhakar Shukla (Head, School of Geoinformatics & Scientist-SE, Remote Sensing Applications Centre, Uttar Pradesh (RSAC), Lucknow) at the University Auditorium.
During the lecture, Dr. Shukla highlighted the growing significance of Geospatial Technologies, Artificial Intelligence, Remote Sensing, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and data-driven approaches in addressing contemporary engineering challenges. He also emphasized the potential of these technologies in promoting innovation, efficient decision-making, and sustainable development. The invited lecture was attended by 170 students from various engineering streams, who actively participated in the session.
To mark the occasion, three technical events were also organised that were aimed at promoting innovation, creativity, practical knowledge, technical competence, and problem-solving skills among students. A total of 120 students of participated in the three technical categories: Student Innovation Presentation, TECH CHALLENGE – Workshop Challenge, and TECH CHALLENGE – Check Your Skills.
Under the Student Innovation Presentation category, students presented innovative ideas based on existing and emerging technologies. Participants demonstrated their working models, projects, prototypes, software applications, and coding solutions before a panel of experts. Innovative projects such as an AI-based Waste Segregation Tool, Local Library System, and Self-Healing Concrete received appreciation from the expert panel for their creativity, practical relevance, and potential applications. The event was coordinated by Mr. Sanjeev Kumar (Assistant Professor, MSOET, Lucknow Campus).
The TECH CHALLENGE – Check Your Skills was coordinated by Ms. Divyanshi (Assistant Professor, MSOET, Lucknow Campus). The challenge assessed students’ technical efficiency and problem-solving abilities through programme-specific technical problems and coding challenges, encouraging participants to apply their theoretical knowledge to practical and technical situations.
The TECH CHALLENGE – Workshop Challenge focused on evaluating students’ practical skills and hands-on engineering abilities. Participants were engaged in activities such as preparing carpentry joints, fitting joints, and identifying and recognizing engineering components. The challenge provided students with an opportunity to demonstrate their practical knowledge, precision, and workshop skills. The event was coordinated by Mr. Pawan Chaudhary (Assistant Professor, MSOET, Lucknow Campus).
Overall, Engineers’ Day 2026 at Lucknow campus provided a vibrant platform for students to learn from experts, showcase innovative ideas, demonstrate technical and practical skills, and engage in problem-solving activities. The combination of the expert lecture and technical competitions helped foster a spirit of innovation, experimentation, and engineering excellence among the participating students.
The overall event was coordinated by Dr. Gaurav Shukla (Associate Professor, MSOET), Mr. Pawan Chaudhary (Assistant Professor, MSOET, Lucknow Campus) and Mr. Sanjeev Kumar (Assistant Professor, MSOET, Lucknow Campus).
