Guest Lecture on “Employability and Current Trends in the Pharmaceutical Industry”

Objective: The guest lecture was organised with the objective of providing students with meaningful industry exposure and enhancing their understanding of the pharmaceutical sector. The session focused on emerging trends in the pharmaceutical industry, career opportunities, employability skills, and the expectations of industry from pharmacy graduates.

The interaction aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements by enabling students to gain practical insights from an experienced pharmaceutical industry professional.

Participants:  106 students of B.Pharm / D.Pharm

Event Details: The session commenced with a brief introduction of the resource person and the purpose of the guest lecture. Mr. Achal Veer Srivastava, Founder & Director, Glalet Pharmaceutical Pvt. Ltd., Lucknow, shared his professional experience and provided students with an overview of the evolving pharmaceutical industry.

During the session, he discussed various aspects of the pharmaceutical sector, including:

• Current trends and developments in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Emerging career opportunities for pharmacy students.
• Essential technical and soft skills required by pharmaceutical organisations.
• Industry expectations from fresh graduates.
• Importance of professional communication, confidence, and workplace ethics.
• Career growth opportunities in different areas of the pharmaceutical sector.
• The significance of continuous learning and industry readiness.

The interactive nature of the session encouraged students to participate actively and seek clarification on career-related queries. The resource person also shared practical experiences and guidance to help students prepare themselves for successful careers in the pharmaceutical industry.

Students’ Feedback: The students expressed their appreciation for the informative and interactive session. They found the discussion on industry trends, career opportunities, employability skills, and expectations from pharmacy graduates particularly useful.

Students highlighted that the interaction helped them understand the practical requirements of the pharmaceutical industry and provided greater clarity regarding career options after completing their academic programmes. The opportunity to interact directly with an industry professional was considered valuable in enhancing their confidence and industry awareness.
