Empowering Educators 5.0: Integrating Digital Innovation, Effective Teaching Practices and Consciousness-Based Education

Objective: The Five-Day Faculty Development Programme was organized to strengthen the teaching, technical and value-based competencies of faculty members. The programme aimed to build practical familiarity with AI tools for classroom and administrative use, sharpen data-handling and analytical skills through Excel and Power BI, deepen the understanding of human values and harmony in education, refine classroom delivery and student engagement practices, and reaffirm faculty members to the principles of Consciousness-Based Education as envisioned by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. A total of 70 faculty members attended the programme, and all five days were made compulsory for participation.

Day-Wise Outcomes

Day 1 (22 July) – AI That Actually Works: From Theory to Classroom:

Ms. Roshni Bajpai, AI Consultant and Data Scientist at HCL GUVI and Founder & CEO of Glow Tech Solutions, opened the programme with a hands-on session on practical AI tools for teaching, research, assessment, content creation and academic administration. Faculty members worked through live demonstrations and real-time exercises & the session reinforced that AI is a support to teaching, not a replacement for the teacher. Participation and interaction were strong right from the first session.

Day 2 (23 July) – Human Consciousness, Values and Harmony

Shri Moti Chand Yadav (Member, NCCIP, AICTE, Delhi), along with Dr. Manisha Shukla, Lucknow University led sessions on the role of education in developing human consciousness and understanding harmony, in line with AICTE's Human Values framework. The discussions centered on morality, ethics and the teacher's role in shaping responsible citizens & gave faculty members practical ways to bring value-based education into everyday teaching.

Day 3 (24 July) – Turning Data into Better Decisions

Mr. Harshit Verma, Trainer at Vision Tech, Lucknow, conducted hands-on sessions on advanced Excel skills and Power BI for academic insights. Faculty members practiced data analysis, dashboard creation and interactive reporting, and left with tools to support evidence-based academic planning and student performance analysis. The session was among the most actively practiced, with faculty following along on their own systems throughout.

Day 4 (25 July) – The Art of Effective Teaching: Creating Impact Beyond the Classroom

Prof. (Dr.) Kiran Lata Dangwal, Professor at University of Lucknow, spoke on creating impact beyond the classroom through learner-centered pedagogy, effective classroom engagement and stronger teacher-student relationships. The session combined practical examples with open discussion, and faculty members engaged closely with the ideas of building trust and meaningful connection with students.

Day 5 (27 July) – Maharishi's Vision for Modern Academia

Dr. Rini Vohra, Scientific Advisor at Maharishi Ayurveda and TEDx Speaker, closed the programme with a session on the Unified Field of Knowledge and Consciousness-Based Education, connecting knowledge, self-awareness, creativity and holistic development with the founding vision of His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi for higher education. The day ended with an online assessment test, in which all 70 attending faculty members took part.
