  “Van Mahotsav 2026 – Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”

Organised by: NSS Units of Maharishi University of Information Technology in association with IQAC

Objective: Maharishi University of Information Technology, Lucknow campus in Association with IQAC and NSS Units, organized a plantation drive under the “Van Mahotsav 2026 – Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign on 12th July 2026. The primary objective of the programme was to promote environmental awareness and encourage students, teaching staff, and non-teaching staff to actively participate in tree plantation and conservation activities.

Participating Members:  NSS Volunteers, students, teaching staff and non-teaching staff

Event Details: The programme encouraged participants to plant saplings as a meaningful tribute to their mothers. Neem, Jamun, Jackfruit, Mango, and Guava saplings were planted, promoting both environmental protection and the therapeutic value of plants. Participants actively took part in plantation and pledged to ensure the proper care and maintenance of the saplings. The programme also emphasized collective participation, sustainable practices, and environmental stewardship among the university community.

The plantation activity conveyed the message that every planted tree represents a commitment to a cleaner and greener future. By connecting tree plantation with the emotional bond of a mother, the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative encouraged participants to develop a personal and long-term sense of responsibility towards the environment.

The programme successfully promoted awareness regarding the importance of increasing green cover, protecting natural resources, and adopting sustainable environmental practices. The enthusiastic participation of the university community reflected a collective commitment towards environmental conservation and a greener campus.

Feedback: The plantation drive received an enthusiastic and positive response from the participants. Students, faculty members, and staff appreciated the initiative and expressed their willingness to contribute towards environmental protection and sustainable development. Participants also emphasized the importance of regular care and maintenance of planted saplings so that the activity may create a lasting environmental impact.
