Objectives: The Maharishi School of Science of Consciousness (MSOSOC) in association with National Service Scheme (NSS) units and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) organized the 12th International Day of Yoga on 21st June 2026 under the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing”, at Lucknow Campus of Maharishi University. The main objectives of the event were to promote awareness about the importance of yoga and meditation in daily life, and encourage physical, mental, and spiritual well-being through regular yoga practice.
Participants: Faculty members, staff, and students.
Event Details: The 12th International Day of Yoga was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervour at the sports ground of Maharishi University of Information Technology (MUIT), Lucknow Campus.
The program commenced at 6:00 AM with an introductory address delivered by Mr. Shikshant Bhatt, Assistant Professor, MSOSOC. Thereafter, a session on the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) was conducted under his guidance. During the session, Ms. Anju and Mr. Ankit, faculty members of MSOSOC, demonstrated various yoga postures and practices.
Following the Common Yoga Protocol session, participants were guided through Pranayama and Transcendental Meditation practices. While conducting the yoga session, Mr. Bhatt explained the significance and benefits of various yogic practices, emphasizing their contribution to physical health, mental well-being, and overall holistic development.
On the occasion, Dr. Neeraj Jain, Dean Academics, addressed the gathering and motivated the participants to incorporate yoga and meditation into their daily lives as essential tools for maintaining a healthy lifestyle and achieving harmony among the mind, body, and spirit. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Ved Prakash, HOD, MSOSOC. Overall, the program was as an enriching and inspiring experience.
Participants’ Feedback: The participants expressed their appreciation for the well-organized and informative yoga session. They found the Common Yoga Protocol, Pranayama, and Transcendental Meditation practices highly beneficial for enhancing physical health, mental clarity, and overall well-being. Participants also appreciated the expert guidance provided during the session.
