Mission LiFE World Environment Day Pre-Campaign

Organised by: Maharishi University of Information Technology in association with IQAC
Objective: Maharishi University of Information Technology in association with IQAC organized World Environment Day 2026 Pre-campaign activities on 22nd and 23rd May 2026. This initiative was organized in compliance with the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEFCC) directive Circular No. F.No. -1-1/2026 (Mission LiFE), dated 11th May, 2026. The objective of the program was to foster environmental consciousness and promote sustainable living practices among students, faculty members, and staff by aligning with various environment related themes
Participants: Students from all schools, faculty and staff of MUIT Lucknow Campus
Event Details: The pre-campaign activities on May 22nd, 2026, based on the theme Say No to Single-Use Plastic & Adopt Healthy Lifestyle, featured an engaging Selfie and Signature Campaign where participants enthusiastically pledged to reduce the use of single-use plastics, conserve natural resources, and adopt eco-friendly habits in their daily lives. The initiative highlighted the importance of collective responsibility and individual action in creating a greener and healthier future.
The program continued on May 23rd , 2026 based on the theme Save Energy & Save Water focusing on saving the environment and protecting natural resources through a dedicated energy and water-saving drive. Participants took a pledge to conserve electricity and use water wisely. The students, faculty and staff enthusiastically participated in the activity, taking a pledge to contribute to energy and water conservation both in work place and home.
The active participation and enthusiastic involvement of students, faculty members, and staff made the campaign highly successful and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to environmental sustainability and national awareness initiatives. The event was coordinated by MUIT Lucknow Campus Nodal Officer for the program- Mr. Mukesh Kumar Pandey (Astt. Prof., Maharishi School of Humanities).
Students’ Feedback : The students expressed that the Selfie and Signature Campaign made the environmental goals feel tangible, personally achievable, and engaging. Many shared that the dedicated energy and water-saving drives on the second day provided clear practical insights into how minor modifications in their daily routines could substantially impact resource conservation. The students noted that the event effectively instilled a profound sense of individual accountability and pride in acting as environmental stewards for a healthier planet.
