Objective: Maharishi University of Information Technology (MUIT Lucknow Campus) organized Arihant–2026, the annual Sports, Cultural, and Literary Fest from 25th to 28th February 2026. The primary objective of the fest was to create a holistic learning environment that extended beyond the traditional classroom by integrating sports, literary, and cultural activities. It aimed to enhance students’ physical fitness, intellectual growth, creativity, leadership skills, teamwork, and critical thinking, preparing them for professional challenges and social responsibilities.

Participating Students: Students across all the schools of Lucknow Campus.

Event Details: Arihant–2026, the annual Sports, Literary and Cultural Fest was grandly inaugurated on 25th February 2026 at the Sports Ground of MUIT Lucknow Campus. The four-day celebration, scheduled from 25th to 28th February 2026, marked a vibrant confluence of talent, creativity, intellect, and sportsmanship. The inaugural ceremony began with Guru Pujan, followed by inspiring addresses from Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) B. P. Singh and Dean Academics Dr. Neeraj Jain. The conveners, Dr. Vikas Kumar Shukla (Sports Committee), Dr. Rupam Singh (Event and Cultural Committee), and Dr. Vijay Srivastava (Literary Committee), introduced their respective segments, energizing the audience for the upcoming events. A captivating yoga dance performance by students beautifully reflected harmony and discipline. The ceremony concluded with the oath-taking by students, vote of thanks by Deputy Dean Academics Dr. Kalyan Acharjya, and the National Anthem.

The event began with several sports, literary, and cultural events, as per the official schedule. Enthusiastic participation across all categories set a spirited and promising tone for the remaining days of Arihant–2026.

The sports section of the Arihant Program was thoughtfully designed to foster physical fitness, teamwork, and a spirit of healthy competition among students. The annual athletic meet commenced with a series of track events, including sprints and relay races, where participants displayed remarkable speed, stamina, and coordination. These events provided an excellent platform for students from various disciplines to interact, collaborate, and build camaraderie beyond academic boundaries.

Field events such as the long jump and shot put attracted enthusiastic participation and audience engagement, showcasing the technical proficiency and individual excellence of the competitors. Indoor games, including chess, table tennis, and badminton, offered a strategic dimension to the sports segment, emphasizing concentration, mental agility, and precision. The badminton tournament, in particular, witnessed highly competitive matches, with MSOET emerging as the champion in the boys’ category, while MSOBM secured victory in the girls’ category, reflecting consistent performance and tactical superiority throughout the tournament.

The team sports category, especially cricket, stood out as a major highlight of the event. A series of inter-school qualifier matches were conducted with great enthusiasm. Notably, in the final match, MSOET clinched the championship title by defeating MSOPS by 58 runs, demonstrating dominance in both batting and bowling. Individual brilliance was also recognized, with Aamir being declared Man of the Match in the final, while Raunit Raghuvanshi was awarded Man of the Series for his outstanding all-round performance across the tournament.

Another crowd-pulling event was the Tug of War competition, which highlighted strength, coordination, and teamwork. In the boys’ category, MSOET emerged as the champion after a series of decisive performances, while in the girls’ category, MSOS secured the title with a strong and consistent display in the final.

The literary segment provided a quiet yet powerful counterpoint to the physical intensity of the sports ground. On the opening day, Letter Writing and Essay Writing competitions encouraged students to articulate their thoughts with clarity and depth. The intellectual rigor of the participants was evident in the sophisticated themes explored during the sessions.

The Essay Writing competition saw MSOH take the top honour, reflecting the school’s strong foundation in critical analysis and prose. In the high-stakes Debate Competition, where logic and rhetoric were the primary weapons, MSOPS emerged victorious, showcasing their ability to navigate complex global arguments.

Creative storytelling was also celebrated, with MSOS winning the Story Writing contest. These literary events, along with various other sessions, served as a testament to the students' articulation, critical thinking, and their ability to engage with contemporary and classical themes with equal ease.

 

The cultural segment transformed the campus into a vibrant stage of artistic expression. The festivities began with Solo Singing and Group Dance, where the audience was mesmerized by the sheer variety of performances. MSOBM took home the trophy for Solo Singing, while the energetic and synchronized performance of MSOH earned them the title in the Group Dance category.

The diversity of the arts was further highlighted through Fine Arts competitions, including intricate Mehndi and Rangoli designs, which adorned the campus walkways. Face Painting allowed for modern artistic expression, while the Drama-Mime and Group Singing events focused on storytelling through movement and harmony.

The Solo Dance competition was a showcase of individual grace, featuring both classical and contemporary styles. These events collectively celebrated the essence of "Sangam Pratibhaon Ka," bringing together students from different academic backgrounds to share a singular, creative vision.

The Prize Distribution Ceremony marked the glorious and high-energy culmination of Arihant–2026, held at the expansive Sports Ground of the MUIT Lucknow Campus.  The ceremony commenced with a solemn Guru Pujan, followed by a welcome address from the Cultural Committee Convener. The core of the ceremony was the formal felicitation of the achievers, where winners across all segments—Sports, Literary, and Cultural—were honored for their excellence. In the sports arena, MSOET was celebrated as the Cricket Champions, and the girls of MSOS were cheered for their victory in the Tug of War. The intellectual rigor of the university was also recognized as winners of the IKS Examination and various literary contests, such as MSOH for Essay Writing and MSOPS for Debate, received their awards. The cultural event trophies were handed out amidst thunderous applause, particularly to MSOBM for Solo Singing and MSOH for their winning Group Dance performance.

 Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor delivered the valedictory speech, motivating the winners to maintain their momentum and encouraging all participants to view competition as a stepping stone to excellence.

The event concluded with a sense of profound fulfillment and institutional unity.  Deputy Dean Academics delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the faculty coordinators, student volunteers, and administrative staff who made behind-the-scenes efforts to ensure the seamless execution of the massive four-day event. As the event came to a close on the final day, the entire university community stood in unison for the National Anthem, marking the official closure of Arihant–2026. The ceremony left the participants with lasting memories and a renewed commitment to striving for excellence in both academic and extracurricular spheres.

Students’ Feedback: Students responded with remarkable enthusiasm, wholeheartedly engaging in the wide array of activities and valuing the platform for creative expression and experiential learning. The fest was widely perceived as both enriching and invigorating, significantly enhancing their confidence, collaborative spirit, and overall personality development.
