Industrial Visit to Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), Lucknow (U.P)
Date of Event: 24th April, 2026
Organised by: Maharishi School of Engineering and Technology
in association with IQAC
Objective: The Maharishi School of Engineering and Technology, MUIT Lucknow Campus, in association with IQAC, organized an industrial visit to Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) on 24th April, 2026. The visit was organized with the objective of providing students with practical exposure to incubation facilities, startup ecosystems, and real-time industry practices.
Participants: MCA 2nd semester students.
Visit Details: At STPI (Gomti Nagar), the session began with a demonstration at the Network Operation Centre. Mrs. Disha Srivastava (Technical Assistant) explained the fundamental working principles of servers and the physical layers of networking. She also provided detailed insights into the functioning of key components such as switches, routers, DNS, and multiplexers, enabling students to connect theoretical concepts with real-time applications.
Thereafter, students had the opportunity to explore the incubation facilities, including plug-and-play workspaces, raw spaces, and advanced IT infrastructure designed to support software startups and entrepreneurs. This exposure helped them understand how such facilities nurture innovation and product development. Dr. Praveen Kumar Dwivedi (MD, STPI) further interacted with the students, explaining the processes of establishing and operating startups within the STPI ecosystem.
The visit then extended to the STPI MedTech Centre of Excellence at SGPGI, where students observed state-of-the-art innovations in Medi-electronics, health informatics, and IoT for healthcare. They interacted with Mr. Shyam Kumar (Chief Operating Officer) and Mr. Abhinav Pandey (Startup Mentor), who guided them through the processes involved in medical device development and technology-driven healthcare solutions. Additionally, Mrs. Kavita (Lab Engineer) demonstrated the working of advanced equipment such as the 3D printer, laser cutting machine, highly precise multimeter, source measure unit (SMU), vinyl cutter, plotter, mixed signal oscilloscope, and CNC machine, giving students hands-on exposure to cutting-edge MedTech tools.
The entire visit provided students with first-hand exposure to incubation ecosystems, startup culture, and interdisciplinary applications of computer science in healthcare technology. It successfully bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical implementation in real-world domains.
The visit was successfully coordinated by Mr. Suraj Singh (Assistant Professor, MSOET).
Students’ Feedback: The industrial visit to STPI proved to be highly enriching and insightful. Students explored state-of-the-art incubation facilities, plug-and-play workspaces, and advanced IT infrastructure, gaining practical exposure to how startups and entrepreneurs are nurtured in the software industry. They also witnessed innovations in Medi-electronics, health informatics, and IoT for healthcare, which broadened their perspective on emerging technological domains. The visit not only helped them connect classroom learning with real-world applications but also deepened their understanding of startup culture and technology-driven healthcare solutions.
Acknowledgement: We express our sincere gratitude to all officials of STPI for their valuable guidance and interaction during the visit. We also extend thanks to our Hon’ble Vice Chancellor (Prof. Bhanu Pratap Singh), Registrar (Dr. Girish Chhimwal), Dean Academics (Dr. Neeraj Jain, Lucknow Campus), Dean MSOET (Dr. Kalyan Acharjya) for their encouragement and guidance and Sr. AO (Dr. Rajesh Singh) for his support in organizing this visit.
