Industrial Visit to Mitter Fasteners, Lucknow

Objective: Maharishi School of Engineering and Technology, MUIT Lucknow Campus in association with IQAC, organized an industrial visit to Mitter Fasteners Plant III, located at Industrial Area Road, Chinhat, Lucknow on 11th April, 2026. The objective of the visit was to familiarize students with modern manufacturing processes, machinery, quality control techniques, and workplace safety practices followed in the industry.
Participating Students: Diploma and B. Tech (ME & EE – 4th & 6th Semesters).
Visit Details: The industrial visit began with the arrival of students at Mitter Fasteners Plant III, where they were warmly welcomed by the plant officials. An introductory session was conducted to brief the students about the company profile, its operations, and the objectives of the visit. The officials provided an overview of the manufacturing processes involved in producing fasteners and highlighted the importance of precision, quality, and efficiency in industrial production. The session also introduced students to the product range and the role of fasteners in various industrial applications.
Following the introduction, the students were guided through different sections of the plant, where they observed various stages of the manufacturing process, including raw material handling, cutting, forging, machining, threading, heat treatment, and finishing. The technical staff explained the working of different machines and equipment used in production, along with the role of automation and advanced technologies in improving productivity and efficiency. Students were able to relate their theoretical knowledge to real-time industrial practices.
A significant part of the visit focused on quality control and testing procedures. Students were introduced to various inspection techniques, measurement tools, and standards followed to ensure the durability, strength, and reliability of fasteners. The importance of maintaining strict quality parameters and minimizing defects in production was emphasized, helping students understand industry expectations and best practices.
The visit also emphasized workplace safety and professional practices. Students were made aware of safety protocols, the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and guidelines to prevent workplace hazards. During the visit, students actively interacted with industry professionals, asked questions, and gained insights into real-time industrial challenges and solutions.
The visit was coordinated by Mr. Suneel Swarnkar (Assistant Professor, MSOET) and Mr. Abhishek Srivastava (Lab Incharge, MSOET).
Students’ Feedback: The visit was highly informative and enriching, giving students practical exposure to real-time manufacturing processes and industrial operations. They observed modern machinery, learned quality control and safety practices, and interacted with industry experts to gain insights into career opportunities. Overall, the experience strengthened their technical understanding and motivated them to develop industry-relevant skills.
