Educational visit to

Krishi Vigyan Kendra-II, Katia, Sitapur

Objective: An educational visit to Krishi Vigyan Kendra-II, Katia (Sitapur) was organised on 10th April 2026 by the Maharishi School of Agriculture (MUIT, Lucknow Campus) in association with IQAC. The visit was aimed at providing practical exposure to modern agricultural practices, crop management, integrated farming systems, and advanced technologies, fostering interest in sustainable agriculture and agri-based career opportunities.

Participating Students: Undergraduate and postgraduate students of Agriculture.

Visit Details: Students explored various demonstration units at Krishi Vigyan Kendra-II, Katia, where they observed practical aspects of modern agriculture including playhouses, nursery management, and drip irrigation systems. Dr. Daya Shanker Srivastava explained the activities and role of the Kendra in disseminating advanced agricultural technologies and supporting farmers.

Students also visited units related to fishery, poultry farming, and vermicomposting, gaining knowledge about integrated and sustainable farming practices. Dr. Srivastava along with Mr. Sachin Tomar (Scientist) provided detailed insights into crop management, seed production, pest control, and the importance of Integrated Farming System (IFS) models for efficient resource utilization and enhanced farm income.

The interaction with experts helped students clarify their doubts and understand real-time challenges faced in agriculture. The visit also encouraged students to adopt innovative and scientific approaches in farming practices.

The visit was successfully organized under the guidance of Dr. Dheeraj Yadav, Dean (MSOA), and Dr. Ankit Singh Yadav (Assistant Professor).

Students’ Feedback: The students found the visit highly informative and engaging, enhancing their understanding of modern agricultural practices and integrated farming systems. Exposure to practical units like nursery, fishery, poultry, and vermicomposting helped them connect theory with real-life applications. Interaction with experts such as Dr. Srivastava enriched their learning experience. The visit also motivated them to adopt innovative techniques and explore opportunities in agriculture.
