One-Day Sensitization Program on
“Agri-business Opportunities in Pulses through Innovation and Technologies”

Organized by: MUIT Incubation & Innovation Foundation (MIIF) in collaboration with Pulses Innovation Hub, ABIC, ICAR–Indian Institute of Pulses Research (IIPR), Kanpur
Objective: MUIT Incubation & Innovation Foundation (MIIF), organized a one-day Sensitization Program on “Agri-business Opportunities in Pulses through Innovation and Technologies” on 16 March 2026 in collaboration with the Pulses Innovation Hub and ICAR–Indian Institute of Pulses Research (IIPR), Kanpur to promote awareness about innovation, agri-startups, and technology-driven opportunities in the pulses sector.
Participants: More than 200 participants from the Maharishi School of Agriculture and Maharishi School of Business Management, MUIT Lucknow Campus.
Event Details: The event commenced with welcome address by Dr. Neeraj Jain, who graciously welcomed the distinguished speakers Dr. R. K. Mishra (Principal Scientist & I/C ITMU & ABI) and Dr. Man Mohan Deo (Scientist Senior Scale). The guests were honoured with traditional patka and memento as a gesture of respect and gratitude.
During the session, Dr. Mishra discussed the vast potential of innovation, value addition, and entrepreneurship in the pulses sector. He explained how pulse residues can be effectively utilized to develop nutritious value-added products, thereby supporting sustainable agriculture and generating new agri-business opportunities.
Dr. Deo elaborated on the role of modern agricultural machinery and advanced technologies in pulse production and processing. He provided insights into the use of crop residue management machines, precision seed drills, threshers, cleaning and grading units, and agricultural drones for efficient crop monitoring, highlighting their significance in improving productivity and promoting agri-entrepreneurship.
The program was anchored by MSOA students Ms. Suhani Sharma and Ms. Shweta Kushwaha, and participation certificates were distributed to all students, marking the successful completion of the enriching session.
Student’s Feedback: The program received an enthusiastic response from students, who found the session insightful and inspiring. The expert talks broadened their understanding of modern technologies, value addition in pulses, and the growing potential of agri-business entrepreneurship.
