Industrial Visit to

Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation, Lucknow

Objective: On 23rd March and 25th March, 2026, an industrial visit to Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation was organized by Maharishi School of Business Management, MUIT Lucknow. The visit was organized to provide management students with practical exposure to the functioning of urban transportation systems, and to enhance students' understanding of metro rail operations, revenue management, customer service strategies, safety protocols, and efficient urban mobility management.

Participating Students: MBA-II Semester students.

Visit Details: The visit was arranged in two days (23rd March 2026 and 25th march 2026) to accommodate maximum number of students for the visit. The visit commenced from Munshipulia Metro Station to Hazratganj Metro Station, Lucknow. Students were introduced to the functioning of metro operations, including ticketing systems, smart card usage, and passenger flow management. Officials provided valuable insights into operational efficiency, scheduling, and safety measures adopted to ensure smooth and secure transportation. Students also observed station management practices and customer service mechanisms in real time, gaining practical exposure to metro rail transportation.

During this visit, students gained deeper insights into backend operations such as control room management, surveillance systems, and emergency response strategies. Emphasis was also placed on organizational structure, coordination between departments, and the role of management in ensuring seamless metro rail journey across the Lucknow. The interactive session with LMRC professionals helped students understand practical challenges and career opportunities in the metro rail sector.

The visit concluded with a highly engaging Q&A session with Mr. Sachin Singh, SSO, LMRC Lucknow, where students had the opportunity to discuss industry challenges, technological advancements, and career opportunities. The entire visit was well coordinated by the Dr Priyanka Chowdhary (Assistant Professor, MSOBM) and Dr Vinay Kumar Yadav (Assistant Professor, MSOBM).

Students’ feedback: The students found the industrial visit highly informative and enriching. They appreciated the opportunity to observe real-time metro operations and understand the application of management concepts in a practical setting. The interaction with LMRC officials enhanced their knowledge of operational efficiency, customer relationship management, and safety practices. Overall, the visit was regarded as a valuable learning experience that effectively bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application.
