Audio-Visual Biography Competition

Organised by: Maharishi School of Humanities in association with IQAC
Objective: In compliance with the UGC circular No. 23 माघ, 1947 / 12th February, 2026 dated 12th February 2026, encouraging Higher Education Institutions to organize activities on the theme “Bharati-Nari to Narayani” to commemorate International Women’s Day, Maharishi School of Humanities ( MUIT Lucknow Campus), in association with IQAC, organized an Audio-Visual Biography Competition on 7th March 2026. The objective of the event was to celebrate and highlight the inspiring journeys, strength, resilience, and achievements of women who have made significant contributions to society and nation-building.
Participating Students: Students from all schools.
Event Details: The programme began with an introduction to the theme “Bharati–Nari to Narayani” by the Convenor Dr. Kanu Priya Verma, who highlighted the significance of the event in the context of International Women’s Day and acknowledged the remarkable contributions of women to society and the nation’s development. This was followed by a warm welcome address by Dr. Rupam Singh (Dean MSOH), who emphasized the importance of acknowledging women’s contribution and empowering young minds to learn from their stories of courage and leadership. Dr. Neeraj Jain, Dean Academics, delivered motivating words encouraging students to creatively present inspiring biographies of women leaders while also acknowledging the invaluable contributions and silent strength of womenfolk in shaping families and society.
The competition featured enthusiastic participation from students across various departments, who presented analytical audio-visual biographies of prominent national figures. The presentations offered critical insights into the remarkable legacies of Smt. Savitri Bai Phule, a pioneer of Indian feminism and modern education, Late Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi, noted for her transformative statesmanship; Rajmata Ahilyabai Holkar, revered for her exemplary administrative reforms and heritage conservation; and Smt. Droupadi Murmu, Hon’ble President of India, recognized for her advocacy of tribal rights and inclusive governance. Each biography meticulously highlighted their respective contributions to social justice, strategic leadership, and the overarching project of nation-building.
After evaluation, Swarnima Shukla (MSOPS) secured the First Prize, Sanskriti Mishra (MSOH) won the Second Prize, and Ayushman Pandey (MSOA) achieved the Third Prize, while Ipshita Chandra (MSOH) and Ishita Srivastava (MSOA) were awarded Consolation Prizes. The session was judged by Ms.Ayushi Dwivedi and Ms. Shailly Singh while Dr. Sarita Verma delivered the vote of thanks. The event was convened and moderated by Dr. Kanu Priya Verma.
Students’ feedback: The students found the presentation session highly engaging and rewarding. They appreciated the opportunity to learn about the inspiring journey of women who played important role in shaping the society .
