36 Hours Soft Skill Training Programme
“Empowering Students for Professional Excellence”

Organised by: Maharishi School of Engineering and Technology (MUIT- Lucknow Campus) in association with Naandi Foundation (GATE Foundation) and IQAC
Objective: The Maharishi University of Information Technology, Lucknow Campus, in association with Naandi Foundation (GATE Foundation) and the IQAC, successfully conducted a comprehensive 36-hour Soft Skills Training Programme from 05th to 14th February, 2026. The resource person for this training was Mr. Khalid Imam (Soft Skills Trainer, Naandi Foundation). The programme aimed to enhance students’ employability by cultivating strong interpersonal communication skills, emotional intelligence, professional ethics, and workplace competencies, effectively bridging the gap between academic learning and industry expectations. The training was primarily designed for girl students with the objective of promoting women empowerment by strengthening their confidence, leadership abilities, and career readiness however both male and female students were part of the training.
Participants: 55 students of Diploma, B. Tech (CSE), BCA, MCA, of final/ pre-final year.
Event Details: The training was initiated with an extensive orientation programme that included a detailed introduction to the programme, its objectives, structure, and expected outcomes. Students were informed about the key benefits of the training, including enhancement of communication skills, personality development, teamwork, leadership qualities, and interview preparedness. The orientation session also emphasized that participation in the programme is essential for students to improve their employability, professional confidence, and overall career growth.
The formal training commenced with a well-structured curriculum comprising various modules, including Self-Awareness, Verbal Communication, Non-Verbal Communication, Professional Scripting, Goal Setting and Time Management, Resume Preparation, Interview Preparation, Mock Interview, and Review of Results. Under these comprehensive modules, systematic and practical training was imparted to students to enhance their personal, interpersonal, and professional competencies, ensuring their holistic development and improved career readiness.
The training programme commenced with the theme of “Self-Awareness.” Mr. Khalid Imam guided the participants through the core pillars of self-reflection, helping them identify their personal strengths and areas for improvement. The session emphasized the significance of emotional intelligence as the foundation for professional growth, enabling students to align their personal values with long-term career aspirations. Interactive discussions and reflective activities encouraged students to gain deeper insight into their personality traits and professional potential.
Then the focus shifted to “Verbal Communication.” The resource person conducted an energetic and activity-based session that included communication drills designed to improve articulation, clarity, and active listening skills. Through practical exercises and peer interactions, students gained hands-on experience in mastering spoken communication and understanding the impact of professional expression in academic and corporate environments.
Further ahead in the training, the module of “Non-Verbal Communication” was explored in detail. The Resource Person highlighted the importance of body language, facial expressions, posture, and gestures in professional settings. Through engaging role-plays and demonstrations, students learned how non-verbal cues significantly influence first impressions, confidence levels, and interpersonal effectiveness, often conveying stronger messages than words alone.
Then the session focused on “Professional Scripting.” The Resource Person delivered a comprehensive lecture on structured thinking and the art of drafting professional content, including formal introductions and workplace communication. During the workshop, a formal registration process was completed with the Naandi Foundation to ensure that participants receive their official certificates and specialized learning booklets, strengthening the academic and professional value of the programme.
The theme of “Goal Setting and Time Management” was the next session, which emphasized the strategic alignment of career objectives with efficient time utilization. Mr. Khalid Imam introduced students to the SMART goal framework and the Eisenhower Matrix, providing practical techniques for prioritizing tasks and managing responsibilities effectively. Real-life examples and interactive discussions helped students understand how disciplined planning contributes to long-term success.
As the training progressed, the focus moved to building on an emphatic profile with the module on “Resume Preparation.” The Resource Person guided students through the process of crafting industry-standard resumes, highlighting the importance of presenting core competencies, academic achievements, and project experience effectively. Special emphasis was placed on tailoring resumes according to job descriptions and using professional formats to ensure compatibility with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
Now it was time to brace oneself for facing the panel with module on “Interview Preparation”. The session covered essential aspects such as mock interview techniques, effective body language, confidence building, and maintaining workplace integrity. Students participated in simulated interview scenarios to enhance their readiness for real recruitment processes.
The penultimate day of the training focused on “Mock Interview and Review of Results.” Students actively participated in structured mock interviews, after which detailed feedback and performance reviews were provided. The Resource Person emphasized professional ethics, communication clarity, and behavioral confidence, helping students understand their strengths and areas for further improvement.
The final day of the programme focused on the theme “Review of Interview and Professional Ethics.” Mr. Khalid Imam provided valuable insights into handling high-pressure recruitment environments while upholding ethical standards and professional integrity. He guided students on maintaining confidence, honesty, and professionalism throughout the selection process.
The programme concluded with a formal Certificate Distribution Ceremony, followed by a group photograph, marking the successful completion of the training journey.

Student Feedback: Participants found the sessions interactive, practical, and directly relevant to their career growth. Activities on self-awareness, communication skills, resume preparation, and interview techniques significantly boosted their confidence and professional readiness. Students particularly valued the mock interviews and real-world examples, which helped them overcome stage fear and understand workplace expectations. Overall, they described the programme as insightful, transformative, and career-oriented, and expressed interest in attending more such skill development initiatives in the future.
